Giovanni Valerio Pasquali was a Venetian copper-engraver & printer,active c. 1780s-1810s, and almost certainly the grandson of Giovanni Battista Pasquali (1702-1784). The elder Pasquali, with the support of the British bibliophile Joseph Smith, established the Pasquali Press in the 1730s, which soon set the standard for elegant mid-century Venetian publishing.

Nicholas de Fer (1646-1720) was the youngest son of Parisian print and map seller, Antoine de Fer [d.1673]. He became an official geographer to both French and Spanish kings. Nicholas de Fer was one of the most prolific and influential French geographers and cartographers of the late 17th and early 18th Century.
