When using the pipe, dilute dishwashing detergent with water, wet the steel pipe with water mixed with dishwashing detergent, and then put on the sponge tube. This makes it easier to fit the sleeve onto the pipe.

This is normal. Rubber foam sponge tubes have a slight shrinkage tolerance, generally ±1 mm. Wet the steel pipe with diluted dish soap before inserting the sponge tube for easier installation. Do not install dry.
