This copper cauldron has a story. I’m not the best storyteller for it. I want to show you with photos as best I can. Please notice it has one repair patch. It measures 16” across at its widest point and with the handles its height is nearly 9”. I have tried identifying the maker with the stamp on the bottom but was rather unsuccessful. There is a oval mark on the bottom with Villedieu les Poêles and GC, that I'm assuming was the makers mark, that I can't match to any know makers. Probably dates from the 1950's to the early 70's. The body and lid are copper while the feet and handle are brass.
