Handmade Antique 1800's French Hammered 10” Copper Cauldron/Pot with Iron Handle This hand made piece is exquisite! It is hand hammered with a detailed designed on the sides and bottom. It also has an iron handle. This piece was originally used for cooking over an open fire in a large chateau kitchen thus they are not completely flat on the bottom. This piece is sturdy and in Excellent antique condition. No holes or repairs. Lovely patina.

It would look great in a Country House for log storage or as a planter. This is HUGE. It has the original small holes in the base for drainage. It can obviously be for whatever you prefer. It does not have a flat base but once filled full of logs or soil will settle.

This copper cauldron has a story. I’m not the best storyteller for it. I want to show you with photos as best I can. Please notice it has one repair patch. It measures 16” across at its widest point and with the handles its height is nearly 9”. I have tried identifying the maker with the stamp on the bottom but was rather unsuccessful. I offer you this old antique cauldron. The body is brass, decorations applied around the cauldron. Its handle is made of brass and the three feet are made of bronze. It can be used as a planter, a fireplace ash catcher, a book holder. Very nice antique condition Height 13” without handle up Height 24” with handle up Diameter 10” All my items are old, so they may show signs of wear or use, so please look carefully at the photos.
