Before its release, Patek Philippe had only produced a single watch with this combination of complications—a unique piece from 1940 (Reference 1415-1 HU), currently housed in the Patek Philippe Museum. 5930G-001 specifically features Hong Kong on its city ring to represent the GMT +8 time zone. It was later replaced by the Ref. 5930G-010, which substituted Beijing for Hong Kong. The 5930G-001 has been discontinued in favor of newer iterations (like the green-dialed 5930P in Platinum). Because it was the first modern Patek to offer this specific combination of complications, it remains a "grail" for collectors of technical Patek Philippe timepieces.
