It takes six AA's The condition is used. It works but not the best. And kids being kids, I played with this an awful lot and used regular glue to repair it. The glue made it off balanced to fly. So yes, it works, but not that great. I'd probably just use this for spare parts. I personally did not test it for this eBay listing. But when I put it in my closet years ago, that was the condition it was in.
