This is an Indonesian bamboo lime powder cylinder for betel nut chewing. It measures 7½" long x 1¼" in diameter. Opening is 13/16". It is carved with a tribal design in black on natural tan bamboo wood. The lid fits very well. I am uncertain of the age, but it appears to be quite old. The circles of wood on the lid and base are not completely flat. Condition is very good. Please see the photos and item details for more specifics.
