Juzo Itami directs this Japanese drama following a grieving family as they prepare for the funeral of a loved one. Set over the course of three days beginning with the sudden death of Shinkichi Amamiya (Hideji Otaki), the story follows the deceased's daughter Chizuko (Nobuko Miyamoto) and son-in-law Wabisuke Inoue (Tsutomu Yamazaki) as they try to organise the funeral.
