Georges de La Tour (1593-1652) remained relatively unknown until the twentieth century, when it was realised that he was one of the greatest painters of candle-lit scenes who ever lived. The book is in good, neat condition for its age, with minor wear to the original dust-jacket (not price-clipped; foxing to the inside front flap of the dust-jacket), and a little light foxing to the blank endpapers.
