Hexagon Threaded Bar/ Rod Connector Nut Application A hexagon connector nut is used as a coupling 2 threaded bars together. To fasten the rods you would turn the connector nut clockwise/ to the right (righty-tighty) until the threaded bar reaches half way up the nut.
