Entoku-in is a sub-temple of Kōdai-ji, built by Nene (Kita-no-Mandokoro) to honor Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The original hall and garden were relocated from Fushimi Castle in 1605. When the statue shattered, Hideyoshi saw it as a divine sign and commissioned a new version, keeping it close throughout his life.
