The nipples are attache to cage wire with double springs, which is more stronger and durable than single spring. EASY TO INSTALL: Mount the chicken nipple waterer on a gravity fed watering system, connect 5/16" ID hose, have springs to secure the nipple to the cage wire, (if the hose is not easy to connect to other fittings in use, you can use hot water softening hose), easy to use and reusable.
