The cycads genus Ceratozamia is limited to the continent of America. They are often rather smaller cycads with underground caudexes, but there are also larger species that can reach a stem height of about 2 meters. Ceratozamia hildae is a small species with forked leaflets from Mexico. This species is one of the most cold-tolerant cycads of all. Plants can handle short frosts down to -6°C.
