A vintage art glass candle holder with aqua (light blue), yellow color layers and a clear glass coating. The entire surface is decorated with horizontal, light grinding. Designed by Paolo Venini and manufactured by Venini Murano Venice in the 1950s. Venini model number 4809. The base bears the three-line acid-etched signature 'venini murano ITALIA'. This model was exhibited on the 28th Venice Bienale in 1956. In 1921 Paolo Venini and Giacomo Cappellin founded a company that would become world famous. Under the artistic directions of Vittorio Zecchin the Vetri Soffiati Cappellin Venini & C. become the whiz kid of the golden 1920s.
