Wasa was also created to serve as warship – so called sailing symbol of Gustav II Adolf, the king and Sweden. According to the king's concept, the new ship was to become the flagship of the Swedish Royal Navy, the largest and most heavily armed ship of all existed ships in the countries with access to the Baltic. Wasa was the most expensive and richly decorated ship in the Swedish Navy. However, she was the unluckiest ship ever.
