The plate has 1/4" (6.3 mm) holes, 1/4" size works particularly well for Regular Chili Grind. If one has gradually worn away from perfectly flat, the other will have worn with it. As a result they may still be used together, however, if one is matched with a different item which is perfectly flat, the set will certainly not turn out a good product.
