I purchased this item directly from Rachio but I did not buy it new--it was a refurbished one. When I told my son to install it, he told me I needed to have a sprinkler system (and I do not have one...). My loss your gain. I'm selling it way under cost. I tried to return it but I waited too long to contact the company. I can say that I am very satisfied with another of their products, the Rachio single hose timer...I LOVE IT! Rachio is an American company from Colorado. If you end up buying this product you can contact them and they will provide the support that you need to use it. Hope you try it!
