Echinocereus viereckii is a running plant in the cactus family, Cactaceae. The stems run horizontally as they branch from the base. The flowers are slightly deeper colored on the inner part of the tepals and are brighter on the outer parts with yellow anthers surrounding a green stigma at the center.
