A beautiful antique Victorian Etruscan Revival gold filled, paste cameo floral mourning locket pendant, dating to the circa 1860s. This pretty Victorian gold filled mourning locket pendant has a lovely central carved paste cameo showing a portrait of a lady with a mourning veil on her head, this look becoming popularized by Queen Victoria in the years following Prince Albert's death in 1861, the cameo set in a fabulous scrolling and beadwork decorated case with pretty applied floral leaves surrounding it, the inside with a memento mori compartment and the locket with a nice large floral bail. The locket is unmarked. The locket measures approximately 2 x 1 1/4 inches. The memento compartment measures about 28mm x 18mm. The bail will hold a 2.5mm chain. The locket weighs about 14.0 grams.
