I pre-ordered this years ago and it has stayed in my cupboard out of sunlight for nearly 10-years. (Will instantly work on "New" Nintendo 3DS models as the NFC reader is built into the "New" Nintendo systems, however older models of the 3DS will need the official NFC reader/writer to use).
