Antique French 8 Day Striking Grecian Themed Unusual Mahogany Mantel Clock

This French Grecian architectural mantel clock features a beautiful patina on its mahogany case. The case has great proportions, with bronze cherub figures on either side and a finely embossed Grecian lady figure brass plaque, in excellent condition. The clock has a black slate/marble chapter ring dial with Roman numerals, protected by a bevel-glazed hinged door. The dial is in great condition. It features a French 8-day bell striking movement with an anchor escapement. The movement strikes the bell once on the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour. The movement is very clean, recently serviced, in full working order, keeping good time, and striking as it should. The clock measures 10" high, 17" wide, and 6" deep. This is a genuine original antique clock dating from circa 1850-1880.
