This beautiful Voightlander & Sohn Field glass was originally intended for the enjoyment horse racing. Sold in the 1870’s by the optician Callaghan on 23a New Bond Street, London (Now Burberry’s flagship store) this German made Galilean binocular is in very good optical, mechanical and cosmetic condition. The lenses are all perfect, without damage, dirt, scratches or fungus. Cosmetically all the original leather is intact and the aluminium metalwork has just a little rubbed paint in raised areas, commensurate with use.
