This small folio of "receipts" is hand bound with the boards made from printing proofs of an early Pennsylvania law book, marbleized with hand sewn binding. Originally a hand written manuscript with classical biographies of Noah, Aristotle etc it was repurposed as a cookbook. Recipes for classic colonial period fare including pickled walnuts, quince cordial, raspberry vinegar, Force Meat balls and more. Found with letters of the period from the Wm. Bradford family of Philadelphia. 8" x 10"
