The Directions say it can dub VCR(vhs) to DVD and DVD to VCR(vhs) This would make this machine a perfect BOOTLEGGER copy machine. We could not get the machine to copy a vhs tape to a DVD disk. But we found we could use another stand alone vhs machine and plug it into this machine and burn a perfect DVD.
