The Saka Koraizaemon and Sakakura Shinbei lineages trace their origins to two Korean potter brothers, Li Shakko and Li Kei, who were (forcibly) brought to Japan by feudal lord Mori Terumoto following Toyotomi Hideyoshi's invasions of Korea in the late 16th century.
