This 17th/18th century antique Iron Plate door/gate lock is a beautiful piece.The handmade wrought iron lock is rusted and has an old Iron Age brown patina. The lock mechanism does not turn with the key. It is frozen in place. It could possibly be freed up with Oil? It appears that the mechanism is still in place and could operate. The lock comes with the 7.5” skeleton key and measures 6.5” x 6.5” x 1.5” x 11.25” with lock arm. It was artisan made in Spain or Morocco, making it a valuable addition to any antique collection. It does have the artist metal work monogram seal on the front, making it a signed piece. Brought back from a trip to Spain in the early 1970’s. This is a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of Ancient History.
