This 15' Easy Heat water pipe freeze protection is new in the box. It has a built-in thermostat that activates it when the temperature drops below freezing. It can be used on metal pipe and PVC. It is easy to install, simply tape it to the bottom of the pipe with strapping or electrical tape and make sure it is snug to the pipe. Then cover with pipe insulation of some type. Fiberglass wrap is shown in the picture. These work great in crawl spaces; I have used them on several of my rental homes and once they are on and plugged in there is never another problem. They can also be used to thaw frozen pipes. Run on regular house current and use very little electricity if the pipe insulation is installed over the heat tape.
