The recipe for this tooth powder was discovered from ancient ayurvedic texts by a royal physician Kochukuttan Thampuran at Kodungalloor Kovilakam, an erstwhile princely state in Kerala. It contained Amla, Pepper, Clove, Bhasma etc.
